Accepting credit cards from customers over the telephone has become accepted and is a very popular payment method. Customers today actually prefer the convenience and are willing to give out their credit card information to a stranger over the telephone. Getting approved for a phone order merchant account has also become much easier as banks have also embraced the concept. Underwriters main concern is your product type and a fairly good credit rating on the principal of the business. Provided you are not selling phone-sex, you should have no problem getting approved for a phone order merchant account.

Credit card processing equipment is necessary to process your customers transaction. Choices to process credit cards will include a credit card machine, credit card processing software, or a ecommerce terminal.Cost can vary and most large credit card processors will offer Free Equipment with a phone order merchant account. Be sure to shop around for someone who can provide the best products at a fair price.

Google Checkout

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Well its Friday, and I thought I write about Google Checkout, that’s right Google Checkout. Believe it or not, this is a great solution for lower volume start-ups and any size webmaster using Google Adwords. We’ll analyize both senerios, starting with a new website start-up. New sites can quickly add a payment option on their website using a Buy-It-Now Button, with a simple cut & paste of code generated from their Google Checkout Account. Conformation of your banking info is fast & simple by entering the amount of a small bank deposit, into your Google checkout account. Merchants can be up and running in a very short period of time. Google has made the entire process simple and fast.

If you currently accept credit cards with a merchant account, you may want to add the Google Checkout feature as an Alternative Payment Methood. Especially if you advertise with Google Adwords, as Google will give you a break on the processing cost, based on your Adwords Advertising. The largest benefit is the fact that Google will add a Google Checkout Icon to your advertising, which should increase your clicks, thus increase your conversions. Even if you are using a particular shopping cart with your merchant account, you can integrate it in using Google Checkout API integration tools.

In conclusion, Google Checkout is a great add-on to an existing merchant account. You may want to take a look at their blog at the Official Google Checkout Blog for more information.

E-Commerce Merchant Account

Payment Gateways & Shopping Carts

Merchants selling products online need an E-Commerce Merchant Account to process credit card transactions from theirr website. Customers can use a Buy-It-Now button taking them to a payment platform to check-out or you can add a complete shopping cart allowing customers to add multiple products into the shopping cart, before check-out. Buy-It-Now would be the simplest check-out.

Shopping carts can very in scope with many different options. We offer a free shopping cart with simple instalation and can be upgraded with options as needed. The problem with connecting your shopping cart with your merchant account, is that not all shopping carts are compatable with the different payment gateways offered today.

Payment Gateways are the secure connection between your ecommerce merchant account and your shopping cart. This is where your customers credit card data is securely transmitted to your merchant account from your website. We offer multple gateway platforms, such as Authorize.Net Gateway, Eprocessing Network’s Gateway, and the LinkPoint Gateway. These are the major gateways and your shopping cart should be compatible with at least one of these secure payment gateways.

Merchant account approval is necessary processing your customers credit card transaction. The data is transmitted via secure payment gateway, from your shopping cart or buy-it-now button, to your merchant account. Merchant account approval’s can also vary from different providers, as ecommerce transcations are of “Higher Risk”, than a brick and morter transaction.

We specialize in E-Commerce Merchant Accounts and also can approve some High Risk Merchant Accounts, as well. We also do alot of High Volume Merchant Accounts, as well. If your website is new with very little traffic and sales you may want to consider Google Checkout, as an alternative untill your website begans to be profitable. Google Checkout offers a simple solution and is affordable. If you advertise with Google Adwords, they even offer you a discount on credit card processing with Google Checkout. A simple solution for new websites.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me for advise with E-Commerce Payments.
